Update for Tuesday, July 17, 2012 (Ash Creek Complex Wildfire)

Ninety-two miles of fireline have been rehabilitated on the Ash Creek Fire, but more than two hundred miles remain. Land managers are working closely with Rodney Weeks' Team to inventory and prioritize the work remaining to be done. Private landowners are represented by the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. Rehabilitation of the Coal Seam Fire is complete, pending the approval of the resource advisor.In addition to rehabilitation work, firefighters also engaged in suppression activity on Monday. Smokes appearing near the school in Stacey were chased down and put out, as well as other hot spots throughout the fire areas.BLM Dispatch in White City requested that the Taylor Creek firefighters respond to a fire in a hay field on Sonnette Road late Monday morning.
